Which way a difference points.

lost and changed are the ones the fidelity contract governs — the source said something the output does not, or says differently. added is the write path being explicit where the source was implicit, which is usually harmless and is reported separately for a reason worth stating: this diff cannot tell whether the value the write path chose is the one the source was inheriting. An added color is benign if the shape was inheriting that colour and a silent repaint if it was not.
