SlideSource =
"authored"|"carried"
How a slide's content gets into the output deck.
authored — every shape is transcribed into CallIrs and regenerated through the write API. This is the goal: the emitted source is editable, and a reader can see what the deck contains.
carried — the slide holds at least one construct the write API cannot express at all (chartEx is the clear case: a full reader, no emitter), so transcribing it would silently produce a different deck. A printer that can copy the slide from the source package should do so: fidelity is higher than transcription, though the emitted source then says nothing about what is on the slide, which is a real cost and always carries a FidelityNote.
This is a recommendation, not an erasure. SlideIr.calls is populated either way, so a printer with no source package to copy from prints them and loses only the unwritable construct rather than the whole slide.
